Canadian Immigration Law Firm

Do you want to immigrate to Canada and specifically to the province of Alberta? If so, the AINP might be the best Canadian immigration solution for you. The AINP is a program for those foreign nationals who want to attain their Canadian permanent resident status and who intend to live in the province of Alberta. Successful applicants under the AINP are nominated and issued a Provincial Nomination Certificate from the provincial government of Alberta. Contact our full-service Canadian immigration law firm to discuss your options with an experienced attorney.

Once nominated and issued a certificate by the Government of Alberta, applicants may then apply for a permanent resident visa through the Federal Government as a provincial nominee. The applicant’s spouse/common law partner and dependent children may apply for their permanent resident visa together with the principal applicant.  The advantage of having a Provincial Nominee Certificate issued is it allows for a faster Canada immigration visa process. Although this is a provincial program, it is the federal government that makes final decisions on all Canadian permanent residency applications.

Below you will find a list of all the different streams and categories that applicants can apply under through the AINP:

1. Work Experience Stream

2. Employer Driven Stream

  • Skilled Worker Category
  • International Graduate Category
  • Semi-Skilled Worker Category

3. Strategic Recruitment Stream

  • Engineering Occupations Category
  • Compulsory and Optional Trades Category
  • U.S. Visa Holder Category – Permanently closed

4. Self-Employed Farmer Stream

5. Family Stream – Permanently closed.

Note: Meeting the criteria within the different streams and categories under the AINP does not guarantee a nomination or permanent residence.
